MOPAR® CAP Information for Students – FAQs

  • What is the difference between MOPAR® CAP and other manufacturers’ programs? In MOPAR CAP you will learn specific technologies used exclusively on Chrysler, Jeep®, Dodge, Ram and FIAT® products. MOPAR CAP is an internship-based program that enables the student go to college and begin working at a Chrysler, Jeep®, Dodge, Ram dealership or FIAT® Studio.

  • How do I know if I meet the college requirements for admission? We recommend that you contact the college of your choice directly to determine their admissions requirements and your eligibility. Participating colleges can be found either through the map feature of the website or through the main menu of the website.

  • Does MOPAR CAP offer paid internships? Yes, students and dealers generally negotiate an hourly wage for each internship period during the sponsorship process. This allows you to get familiar with the work environment and begin earning money while in school.

  • Does the student commit to the sponsoring dealership after graduation? Sometimes this can be a good arrangement for the student and the dealership to negotiate a deal based on the amount of financial assistance the dealership is willing to provide. For example, the dealership may agree to pay back student loans after graduation for as long as the graduate is employed there. Note that this is not guaranteed but can be negotiable. All negotiations are between the dealership and the graduate, so ask your employing dealership if this is something they would agree to.

  • Who do I contact at the MOPAR CAP college for an application? Contact the MOPAR CAP College of your choice and they will put you in contact with the admissions office. Participating colleges can be found either through the map feature of the website or through the main menu of the website.

  • How long does it take to complete the MOPAR Career Automotive Program? The two-year associate’s degree program can generally be completed in 18-24 months, depending on the academic class load taken each semester or quarter. Many MOPAR CAP Colleges also offer some form of certificate program that allows the student to bypass some of the general education courses and focus solely on automotive courses. The certificate programs generally last 12-18 months.

  • I am currently interested in MOPAR CAP. I have been talking with some FCA US LLC technicians I know and they keep talking about levels of certification. What level of FCA US LLC certification do MOPAR CAP students graduate with? Generally speaking, a typical MOPAR CAP student graduates at level 2 in a number of skill areas in the FCA US LLC Technical Training Curriculum. We recommend that you contact the MOPAR CAP College of your choice for more information about their program and specific college requirements.

  • Are there scholarships available? Most MOPAR CAP Colleges offer student scholarships based on specific criteria (financial need, academic qualifications, etc.). We recommend you contact the MOPAR CAP College of your choice and they can provide specific information regarding scholarship availability and your eligibility.

  • If I was recently discharged from the military and I'm interested in entering MOPAR CAP to earn my college degree, what should I do? We recommend that you contact the MOPAR CAP College of your choice directly (click to Participating Colleges on this website or use the map feature) to determine the admissions process and your eligibility for enrollment in that college. All MOPAR CAP schools qualify for the use of GI Bill education funding and many dealerships have a specific interest in hiring veterans.
